Updating your artist statement and resume
Your artist statement and resume are saved to your profile and shared across all your applications on EntryThingy. Here's how to update them.
How to update your statement or resume
- Go to Edit Profile
- Scroll down to the Artist Information section
- Edit your Artist Statement or Resume/CV text
- Click Save Changes
That's it! Your updated statement and resume will be used for any future applications.
Resume: text or PDF
You have two options for your resume:
- Text resume: Type or paste your resume directly into the text field
- PDF upload: Upload a formatted resume as a PDF (max 10 MB)
You can use either or both — the PDF option is great if you have a nicely formatted resume you'd like to share as-is.
What's the difference between profile fields and application fields?
This is a common point of confusion. Here's how it breaks down:
Saved to your profile (shared across all applications)
These live on your profile page and carry over to every call you apply to:
- Artist statement
- Resume/CV
- Name, email, phone, address
- Website, Instagram, custom links
Specific to each application
These are filled out fresh for each call and may vary depending on what the gallery asks for:
- Description of Work
- Category/Discipline
- How did you hear about this opportunity?
- Image use permission
- Custom questions (set by each gallery)
Will updating my statement change past applications?
Yes. Your artist statement and resume are pulled live from your profile — they're not a snapshot from when you submitted. If you update your statement today, every gallery reviewing your applications (past and future) will see the new version. This means you can fix typos or improve your statement at any time without needing to contact anyone.
Other profile fields you can update
While you're at Edit Profile, you can also update:
- Personal info: name, email, phone, business name, partner name
- Address: street, city, state, ZIP, country
- Links: website URL, Instagram handle, and two custom links (for your portfolio, shop, or other sites)
