Can I get a refund on my entry fee?
Entry fees are paid directly to the gallery through PayPal. EntryThingy does not process, hold, or have access to these payments, so we're unable to issue refunds on entry fees.
How to Request a Refund
Since the gallery received your payment, they are the only ones who can issue a refund. Here's what to do:
- Find the gallery's contact information. Go to the call listing page where you submitted your entry. The gallery's contact details (email or website) are listed there.
- Reach out to the gallery directly. Let them know you'd like a refund and include your PayPal receipt or confirmation email so they can locate the transaction.
- The gallery issues the refund through PayPal. Once they approve it, the refund will be processed through PayPal and returned to your original payment method.
Refund policies vary by gallery. Some galleries offer refunds before the deadline, while others do not. The gallery's call listing or instructions may include details about their refund policy.
Charged Twice?
If you were charged twice for the same entry, reach out to the gallery with both receipts. They can review the transactions in their PayPal account and issue a refund for the duplicate charge.
Duplicate charges most commonly happen when the payment confirmation page takes a long time to load and the pay button is clicked again, or when PayPal's notification to EntryThingy is delayed (so the system doesn't know you already paid).
What About EntryThingy Subscription Fees?
EntryThingy subscription fees (for artist portfolio plans) are separate from entry fees. If you need help with a subscription charge, visit Managing Your Subscription or email us at hello@entrythingy.com.
