How can I set minimum and maximum upload / image sizes?
EntryThingy gives you control over the minimum image dimensions artists must meet when uploading artwork. Here's how it all works.
Setting a Minimum Pixel Dimension
You can require that uploaded images meet a minimum pixel width. This is helpful when you need print-quality images or want to ensure submissions are high-resolution.
- Go to the call you want to edit and click Edit
- Scroll down to the Upload Settings section
- Click to expand the Advanced collapsible section
- Set the Minimum Pixel Width (Per Image) field to your desired value
Recommended values: 1920-3000 px for print-quality images. If you don't set a value at the call level, the system uses your platform's default minimum width (or 800px if no platform default is set).
Note: The minimum pixel width validation only applies to artwork pieces, not booth/display pieces.
Maximum File Size
The maximum upload file size is standardized at 50 MB across EntryThingy. There is no per-call setting for this — it applies to all uploads automatically.
Maximum Pixel Dimensions
There is no separate setting for maximum pixel dimensions. The system cap is 15,000 pixels on any side, which accommodates virtually all standard image files.
Helping Artists Resize Their Images
If artists need to resize their images to meet your minimum pixel requirements, point them to Pixel Prep — EntryThingy's free image resizing tool. Artists can access it from their dashboard, and it will resize images to match the exact dimensions your call requires. It's the easiest way for artists to get their files right before uploading.
