I don't want to use PayPal to pay for my call submission fee
Good news -- even when a call uses PayPal for payment processing, you do not need a PayPal account to pay. You can check out as a guest using any major credit or debit card. PayPal is just the payment processor working behind the scenes to handle your transaction securely.
Paying with a credit or debit card through PayPal
When you reach the PayPal checkout screen, look for the option to pay with a debit or credit card (sometimes labeled "Pay with Card" or "Pay without a PayPal account"). Enter your card details and complete the payment -- no PayPal signup required.
Other payment options
Some galleries and organizations offer additional payment methods:
- Square -- Some calls accept Square payments as an alternative to PayPal.
- Off-platform payments -- Some galleries allow you to pay outside of EntryThingy (for example, by mailing a check or paying in person). If this option is available, the call page will include instructions.
What if I really don't want to use PayPal at all?
If the call only offers PayPal and you'd prefer not to use it, reach out to the gallery or organization directly. They may be able to arrange an alternative payment method or mark your entry as paid after receiving payment another way. Contact information for the gallery is usually listed on the call page.
