Showing juror notes to artists

Jurors can leave notes on individual entries as they review work — observations about technique, thematic fit, or general impressions. By default, these notes are private and only visible to jurors and admins. But if you'd like to share that feedback with artists, you can turn on a setting that makes juror notes visible on the artist's entry page.

This is a great way to provide constructive feedback to artists, especially for educational programs, mentorship-oriented calls, or any exhibition where artists would benefit from hearing the jurors' perspective.

How to Enable

  1. Go to your call and click Edit
  2. Expand the Jury Settings section
  3. Check "Show juror notes to artists"
  4. Click Save

What Artists Will See

Once enabled, artists will see a "Juror Feedback" section on their entry page. This section displays:

  • The juror's name
  • The notes they wrote about that entry

Each juror's notes appear individually, so if multiple jurors commented on an entry, the artist sees all of their feedback.

Important Details

  • Off by default. Juror notes stay private unless you explicitly enable this setting. There's no risk of accidentally sharing feedback.
  • Notes appear immediately. There's no separate "release" step — as soon as a juror writes a note, it becomes visible to the artist (if this setting is on). Keep this in mind when deciding when to enable it.
  • Let your jurors know. If you plan to share notes with artists, tell your jurors ahead of time. You might add something like this to your juror instructions: "Notes you write will be visible to artists. Please provide constructive, professional feedback."
  • Blind jurying still works. If blind jurying is enabled, artist identities remain hidden from jurors regardless of this setting. The two features are independent.
