What emails will I receive from EntryThingy?
Emails You'll Always Receive
These are essential emails related to your account activity. They can't be turned off because they confirm actions you've taken:
- Welcome email: When you create your account
- Submission confirmation: When you submit an entry to a call
- Password reset: When you request a password reset
- Password changed: When your password is updated
- Call question answered: When a gallery responds to a question you asked about their call
Emails You Can Control
These are optional emails designed to help you discover opportunities and stay on top of deadlines:
- Weekly recommendations: Personalized call suggestions based on your profile and preferences (sent Tuesday and/or Friday)
- Starred call deadline reminders: Heads-up when a call you starred is closing soon
- Draft submission reminders: Nudge to finish and submit a draft entry before the deadline
- Post-submission suggestions: Similar calls you might like, sent after you submit an entry
- Public call list intro: A one-time email introducing you to the public call listing
How to Change Your Email Frequency
You can choose how often you receive recommendation emails:
- Go to your Alerts & Preferences page (click your name in the top right, then "Alerts")

Under Email Frequency, choose one of:

Weekly: Recommendations on Tuesdays
- Twice weekly: Recommendations on Tuesdays and Fridays
- Daily: Recommendations every day
- None: No recommendation emails
You can also set priority states to focus recommendations on calls in specific US states.
How to Opt In or Out
When you first sign up, we'll ask if you'd like to receive recommendation emails. You can change your mind at any time:
- From any email: Click the "Update your email preferences" link at the bottom
- From your account: Go to Alerts & Preferences and toggle your email preference
- One-click opt-in: Some emails include a quick opt-in link if you haven't decided yet
Account Alerts
You'll also receive these if they apply to your account:
- Subscription expiring: A reminder when your subscription is about to expire (7 days, 3 days, and 1 day before)
- Subscription expired: When your subscription has expired, with info on how to renew
- Portfolio storage warning: If your portfolio is approaching its storage limit (at 80% and 95%)
Unsubscribing
To stop receiving optional emails entirely, set your email frequency to "None" on your Alerts & Preferences page. You'll still receive essential emails related to your submissions and account security.
