How to use portfolio pieces in call applications

Using pieces from your portfolio when applying to calls saves time and ensures consistency. Here's how to reuse your portfolio pieces:

Using Portfolio Pieces in Applications

Step 1: Start Your Application

1. Find a call you want to apply to
2. Browse calls or search for opportunities
3. Click "Apply" on the call you're interested in
4. Begin your entry
5. Fill in any required information
6. Proceed to the piece upload section

Step 2: Select from Your Portfolio

1. Look for "Select from My Artwork"

2. When adding pieces, you'll see two options:

3. "Upload New Piece" - Upload a new image

4. "Select from My Artwork" - Choose from your portfolio
5. Click "Select from My Artwork"
6. A dropdown or selection menu will appear
7. You'll see all your portfolio pieces listed
8. Choose the piece you want
9. Select the piece from the dropdown
10. Confirm your selection
11. The piece will be added to your application

Step 3: Complete Your Application

1. Add more pieces if needed
2. Repeat the process for additional pieces
3. Mix portfolio pieces and new uploads as needed
4. Review and submit
5. Check that all pieces are correct
6. Complete any remaining application fields
7. Submit your entry

Important Notes

What gets copied: - The image file is copied to your application - Piece details (title, materials, dimensions, etc.) are copied - You can edit these details in the application if needed

What stays separate: - Your portfolio piece remains unchanged - Editing the application piece doesn't affect your portfolio - You can use the same portfolio piece in multiple applications

If you edit a portfolio piece later: - Past applications keep the information they had when submitted - Future uses of the piece will have the updated information - Your Display Link will show updated information

Before applying: - Make sure your portfolio pieces have complete information - Use Pixel Prep to optimize images before uploading to portfolio - Keep your portfolio organized and up-to-date

When selecting pieces: - Choose pieces that match the call's requirements - Consider the call's theme or focus - Select your strongest work for each opportunity

Troubleshooting

If you don't see "Select from My Artwork": - Make sure you have pieces in your portfolio - Try refreshing the page - Contact support if the option doesn't appear

If a piece doesn't appear in the dropdown: - Check that the piece is in your portfolio (not just in a call application) - Make sure you're logged into the correct account - Try uploading the piece to your portfolio first
