How do I delete a call?
You can delete a call from the call edit page. Only platform administrators can delete calls.
Steps to Delete a Call
- Navigate to the call edit page
- Go to your calls list and click on the call you want to delete
- Click the "Edit" button (or go to
/calls/{call_id}/edit/) - Scroll to the bottom of the edit page
- Find the "Danger Zone" section at the bottom
- This section has a red background to indicate it contains destructive actions
- Click "Delete This Call"
- A confirmation modal will appear
- Type the confirmation text
- The modal will show:
delete {call title} - You must type this exact text (case-insensitive) to confirm deletion
- For example, if your call is titled "Spring Art Show 2024", you would type:
delete Spring Art Show 2024 - Confirm deletion
- Once you've typed the correct confirmation text, the "Delete Call" button will become enabled
- Click it to complete the deletion
After deletion, you'll be redirected to your calls list, and the deleted call will no longer appear.
Important Notes
- Only administrators can delete calls - jurors and artists do not have this permission
- Deletion requires confirmation - you must type the exact call title to prevent accidental deletions
- This action cannot be undone - make sure you really want to delete the call before confirming
- All entries remain - deleting a call does not delete the entries submitted to it
Troubleshooting
The delete button doesn't appear: - Make sure you're logged in as a platform administrator - Verify you're on the call edit page (not just viewing the call) - Check that you have admin access to this specific platform
The confirmation text doesn't match: - Make sure you're typing the exact call title as shown in the modal - The text is case-insensitive, but must match exactly otherwise - Copy and paste the text from the modal if you're having trouble
The call still appears after deletion: - Try refreshing the page - Check that you're looking at the correct platform's calls list - If the issue persists, contact support
