How to Duplicate a Previous Call

Running the same call year after year? Or want to create a similar call with minor tweaks? Duplicating a previous call copies all your settings, instructions, and preferences—saving you time and ensuring consistency.

Why Duplicate?

Duplicating is perfect when you: - Run annual or recurring calls with similar requirements - Want to create variations of a successful call - Need to set up multiple calls with shared settings - Prefer starting from a proven template rather than building from scratch

How to Duplicate a Call

  1. Go to your calls list page (the main dashboard where all your calls are displayed)
  2. Click the "New Call" button in the top right corner
  3. Select "Duplicate a Previous Call" from the dropdown menu
  4. Choose the call you want to duplicate from the list that appears. You'll see each call's title and deadline date to help you identify the right one
  5. Review and edit the pre-filled form. The call creation form will open with all settings copied from your original call, including:
  6. Title (prefixed with "Copy of...")
  7. Description and instructions
  8. Entry requirements (min/max images, file types, etc.)
  9. Payment settings
  10. Advanced piece settings
  11. Categories and voting options
  12. All text fields and preferences
  13. Set new dates. All dates are intentionally left blank so you can set fresh deadlines, jury dates, and show dates for the new call
  14. Make any adjustments you need—change the title, update instructions, modify requirements, or tweak any settings
  15. Save your new call when you're ready

What Gets Copied?

Almost everything! The duplicate includes: - ✅ All text content (description, instructions, terms, etc.) - ✅ Entry requirements (image limits, file types, size restrictions) - ✅ Payment settings - ✅ Advanced piece settings (dimensions, materials, pricing, etc.) - ✅ Categories and voting configurations - ✅ Custom questions and Q&A settings - ✅ Juror settings (including blind jury preferences) - ✅ All checkboxes and preferences

What Doesn't Get Copied?

  • All dates (deadlines, jury dates, show dates, publish dates) — these are left blank so you can set fresh dates
  • Entries and submissions — the new call starts empty
  • Juror assignments — you'll need to add jurors to the new call
  • Q&A content — the Q&A feature is copied, but any existing questions/answers are not

Tips

  • Review everything before publishing. Even though settings are copied, double-check that everything still makes sense for your new call
  • Update the title — remember, it starts as "Copy of [Original Title]" so you'll want to change it
  • Check dates carefully — since dates aren't copied, make sure you set all the important deadlines
  • Verify payment settings — if you've changed payment methods or fees, update those accordingly

Common Questions

Can I duplicate a call that's still active? Yes! You can duplicate any call from your list, whether it's active, past, or draft.

What if I want to duplicate a call but change most of the settings? That's fine! The duplicate gives you a starting point, but you can edit anything you want before saving.

Will duplicating a call also copy the entries? No. The duplicate creates a brand new, empty call. Only the call settings and configuration are copied.

Can I duplicate someone else's call? No. You can only duplicate calls from your own gallery account.
