What are the character limits on entry fields?

Here are the character limits for various fields in EntryThingy.

Artist entry fields

• Piece title: 100 characters (each piece in your entry has its own title)
• Artist statement: 5,000 characters
• Resume/CV: 5,000 characters (if the call asks for it)
• Description of entry: Configurable by gallery (default: 200 characters, range: 80-260 characters)
• Medium/Materials: 100 characters (per piece)
• How did you hear about us: 60 characters

Custom questions

Gallery admins can add custom questions to their calls with configurable character limits. For Text and Textarea questions, admins set the max length when creating the question — the allowed range is 50 to 2,000 characters.

Changing limits (for admins)

To change the character limit on a custom question:

1. Go to your call settings and edit the call
2. Find the "Custom Questions" section
3. Edit the question you want to modify
4. Set the "Max length" field to your desired character limit
5. Save your changes

Tips for artists

• Write your responses in a text editor first, then paste them in
• Most word processors show character counts (in Word: Review > Word Count)
• Keep responses concise - jurors often review many entries
