Can I upload a PDF resume or artist statement?
Want to upload a PDF with your resume, CV, or artist statement? Here's what you need to know.
PDF support for artwork
EntryThingy supports PDF uploads for artwork pieces if the gallery has enabled PDFs in their call settings. However, PDFs cannot be uploaded directly for resumes, CVs, or artist statements.
What to do instead
For artist statements and bios
Copy and paste the text from your document into the text fields provided in your entry form. Most calls have dedicated fields for:
- Artist statement (up to 5,000 characters)
- Resume/CV (if the call asks for it - up to 5,000 characters)
- Description of work (varies by call, typically 80-260 characters)
For resumes/CVs
Options depending on what the call asks for:
- Copy the text - Paste key highlights into the resume or statement field (up to 5,000 characters)
- Take a screenshot - If the call accepts images, you can screenshot your resume and upload it as an image file
- Contact the gallery - Ask if they accept resumes via email separately
For gallery admins
If you need to collect PDFs from artists, consider:
- Enabling the "Ask for Resume" field in your call settings - artists can paste their resume content (up to 5,000 characters)
- Adding a custom question asking artists to email their PDF separately
- Using a custom link field where artists can share a Google Drive or Dropbox link to their PDF
- Enabling PDF file types for artwork uploads if you want to accept PDF portfolios
