I can't log in - troubleshooting guide
Having trouble logging in? Here are the most common issues and how to fix them.
Are you on the right version?
EntryThingy has two versions. The old version will be shutting down at the end of March 2026, so after that there won't be any issues. Make sure you're logging in at the correct URL:
- New version (V2): app.entrythingy.com/login - Use this one!
- Old version (V1): entrythingy.com - Being phased out
If you reset your password on V1 but try to log in on V2 (or vice versa), it won't work. Always use app.entrythingy.com/login for password resets and login.
Try resetting your password
If you don't remember your password or haven't set one yet, reset it:
Important: Always reset your password on the current version (V2) at app.entrythingy.com/login. If you reset your password on the old version (V1) and then try to log in on V2, it won't work—the two versions use separate password systems. No matter where you are, always use the "Forgot Password" link at app.entrythingy.com/login.
- Go to app.entrythingy.com/login
- Click "Forgot Password"
- Enter your email address
- Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the password reset email
- Important: The email contains your new password directly—look for the line that says "Your new password is:" and copy it exactly (it's case-sensitive)
- Log in at app.entrythingy.com/login using the password from the email
- Once logged in, you can change your password to something memorable in your profile settings
Note: If a gallery administrator created your account for you (for example, if they entered your submission manually), your account may not have a password set yet. Use "Forgot Password" to set your first password.
Check your email address
Make sure you're using the exact email address you registered with. Common issues:
- Typos in the email address
- Using a different email than you registered with
- Extra spaces before or after the email
- Using a different email address than the one the gallery has on file
Account type issues
EntryThingy separates accounts into two types: artist accounts and admin/juror accounts. You can't use the same email for both types. If you're trying to log in as an artist but your email was used for an admin account (or vice versa), you'll need to use a different email address.
Browser issues
Try these steps:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies for EntryThingy
- Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Disable browser extensions that might interfere (ad blockers, password managers, etc.)
- Try an incognito/private browsing window
- Make sure JavaScript is enabled in your browser
Password issues
- Password not working: Make sure you're copying the password from the reset email exactly as shown (including capitalization)
- "Invalid email or password" error: Double-check that you're using the correct email address and that caps lock isn't on
- Password reset email not arriving: Check your spam/junk folder, and wait a few minutes—emails can sometimes be delayed
