What time do calls close? Understanding deadlines
Need to know exactly when a call closes? Here's how deadlines work in EntryThingy.
What time zone are deadlines in?
Deadlines are stored in Pacific Time (PST/PDT) and automatically displayed in your local time zone when you view them. EntryThingy converts the deadline to match your browser's time zone so you always see the correct local time.
What time do calls close?
Unless specified otherwise, calls typically close at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on the deadline date. This means if you're in a different time zone, the deadline will appear at the equivalent local time (for example, 2:59 AM Eastern Time the next day).
Where can I see the exact deadline?
The deadline is shown on:
- The call's public page
- Your application page
- The call listing on EntryThingy
What if I'm cutting it close?
We recommend submitting at least a few hours before the deadline to avoid any last-minute technical issues. If you're having problems submitting close to the deadline, contact both the gallery and us at hello@entrythingy.com.
Late entries
Some calls have a "Late Entry Deadline" that allows submissions after the main deadline (sometimes with an additional fee). Check the call details to see if this option is available.
