How do I get the code for Artist Showcase?

Here's how to set up Artist Showcase and add it to your site.

Step 1: Open the Artist Showcase Page

From your dashboard: 1. Log in to your EntryThingy admin account 2. Go to Tools in the navigation menu 3. Click "Artist Showcase"

You'll see a visual preview at the top showing what your gallery will look like.

Step 2: Select Your Call and Enable Artist Showcase

  1. Choose your call from the dropdown menu
  2. Toggle "Enable Gallery" to ON

Artist Showcase uses 9 tokens per month when enabled. Your current token balance shows right next to the toggle.

Note: If your selected call doesn't have accepted entries yet, you'll see a message about reviewing entries first. Once you have accepted entries, the preview updates to show your actual artwork.

Step 3: Configure Display Settings

Once enabled, you'll see Display Settings. When you change settings, copy the updated embed code from below and paste it on your website.

Basic settings: - Which entries: Show accepted only, all submitted, or both - Image size: Width in pixels (120px to 450px)

Show for each artwork: Check the boxes for what to display: Title, Artist, Price, Website link, Artwork description, Dimensions, Material, Year, Full-size images

Advanced Settings (click to expand): - Sort order: Random, by category, by name, or by date - Starting category: Which category to show first - Layout options: Link to artist detail, group by artist, booth/space number, artist statement, address/phone - Grid size: Number of columns and rows per page

Step 4: Copy Your Embed Code

Below Display Settings, you'll find the Embed Code card. Click the Copy button to copy it to your clipboard.

Step 5: Paste on Your Website

Add the code to your website. Here's how for common platforms:

WordPress

  1. Edit the page where you want the gallery
  2. Add a Custom HTML block
  3. Paste the embed code
  4. Publish or update the page

Squarespace

  1. Edit your page
  2. Add a Code Block
  3. Paste the embed code
  4. Save and publish

Wix

  1. Click the + button to add an element
  2. Select Embed → Embed a Site
  3. Choose "Code" and paste the embed code
  4. Publish your site

Other Platforms

Look for options like "HTML embed," "Custom HTML," or "Code block" in your website builder.

Step 6: Test Your Gallery

  1. Publish your page so the gallery appears on your live site
  2. Visit the page to confirm everything displays correctly
  3. Test on mobile to make sure it looks good on smaller screens

Updating Your Gallery

When you change display settings in EntryThingy, your live gallery updates automatically. You don't need to copy new code unless you're switching to a different call.

Disabling Artist Showcase

If you no longer need Artist Showcase: 1. Go to the Artist Showcase page 2. Select your call 3. Toggle "Enable Gallery" to OFF

This stops the 9 tokens/month charge. The gallery will stop showing on your website, but you can re-enable it anytime.

Troubleshooting

"The gallery isn't showing up" - Make sure Artist Showcase is enabled in EntryThingy - Confirm you published the page after adding the code - Check that your website platform allows JavaScript

"The gallery shows old entries" - The gallery updates automatically, but it may take a few minutes - Try clearing your browser cache and refreshing

"I don't see my call in the dropdown" - Only Active, Hidden, or Jury Only calls appear in the list - Archived or Draft calls won't show up
