How do the entry list and pieces wall filters work?
Both the Entries list and Pieces wall pages have powerful filtering and sorting options to help you find exactly what you're looking for. You can combine multiple filters together to narrow down your results.
Entries List Filters
The Entries list page includes the following filters:
Search Field
Type in the search box to find entries by:
- Artist name
- Entry ID number
- Entry description
- Artist statement
- Entry notes (admin notes attached to entries)
Click the Search button to apply your search, or click Clear to remove the search filter.
Entry Status Filter
A multi-select dropdown that lets you filter entries by their status (e.g., Submitted, Accepted, Show to Jury, etc.). You can select multiple statuses at once. Deselect all to show entries with any status.
Piece Status Filter
A multi-select dropdown that filters entries based on the status of their pieces. For example, you can find all entries that have at least one piece with status "Submitted" or "Accepted". This is useful for finding entries with pieces in specific states.
Category Filter
A multi-select dropdown that appears only if you've defined categories for your call. Select one or more categories to show only entries in those categories.
Votes Filter
Filter entries based on whether they have received jury votes:
- All Entries - Shows all entries regardless of votes
- Has Votes - Shows only entries that have received at least one vote
- No Votes - Shows only entries that haven't received any votes
Points Filter
Filter entries based on whether they have received jury points:
- All Entries - Shows all entries regardless of points
- Has Points - Shows only entries that have received at least one point
- No Points - Shows only entries that haven't received any points
Bookmark Filter
Available to jurors and admins. Filter to show:
- All Entries - Shows all entries
- Bookmarked Only - Shows only entries you've bookmarked
Sorting
Sort entries by:
- Date - Entry submission date
- Artist - Artist name alphabetically
- Status - Entry status
- Votes - Number of votes received
- Points - Total points received
- Category - Entry category
Choose Ascending or Descending order for any sort field.
Pieces Wall Filters
The Pieces wall page includes similar filters, plus some additional options:
Search Field
Type in the search box to find pieces by:
- Artist name
- Piece title
- Piece description
- Artist statement (from the entry)
- Entry notes (admin notes attached to entries)
Click the Search button to apply your search, or click Clear to remove the search filter.
Entry Status Filter
A multi-select dropdown that filters pieces based on their entry's status. This lets you see pieces from entries in specific states (e.g., only pieces from "Accepted" entries).
Piece Status Filter
A multi-select dropdown that filters pieces by their individual status (e.g., Submitted, Accepted, Rejected, etc.). You can select multiple statuses at once.
Point/Vote Range Filters
When sorting by Points or Votes, you'll see additional range filter fields:
- ≥ (Greater than or equal) - Enter a minimum value
- < (Less than) - Enter a maximum value
For example, if sorting by Points, you can filter to show only pieces with 10 or more points but less than 20 points. Click Filter to apply the range, or Clear to remove it.
Bookmark Filter
Available to jurors and admins. Filter to show:
- All Pieces - Shows all pieces
- Bookmarked Only - Shows only pieces you've bookmarked
Sorting
Sort pieces by:
- Artist - Artist name alphabetically
- Status - Entry status
- Votes - Number of votes received
- Points - Total points received
Choose Ascending or Descending order for any sort field.
Using Filters Together
All filters work together - you can combine multiple filters to create very specific views. For example:
- Search for "Smith" + filter by Status "Accepted" + sort by Points descending = Find all accepted entries by artists named Smith, sorted by highest points
- Filter by Piece Status "Submitted" + Points ≥ 10 + Bookmarked = Find all bookmarked pieces with Submitted status that have 10 or more points
When you apply filters, they persist as you navigate between pages. To clear all filters, you can either:
- Manually deselect each filter
- Click the Clear button next to the search field (this clears search only)
- Navigate away from the page and return
